Set project - Initial idea
In this term, there are three themes I can carry out for the major project - Plastic fantastic, Futuristic fantasy and Curious creature.
It was quite hard to choose the theme since these are unfamiliar to me and I never think about those. However, among those, I finally chose "Curious creature" as a theme and I began to develop my idea.
First of all, I have a look what kinds of species I am going to look at.
There were many species such as insects, amphibians, birds, reptiles and marine animals.
I found many interests of marine animals and it makes me more curious and dig into.
While there are countless and a number of existing marine animals, I would like to more look at unknown species that have a curious and mysterious appearance and various colours on their body.
These are what I have looked at so far.
1. Jellyfish

4. Christmas tree worm
According to Unesco (2013), an estimated 50-80% of all life on earth is found under the ocean surface and the oceans contain 99% of the living space on the planet. Less than 10% of that space has been explored by humans. In spite of this factor, this area should be discovered by humans more and more and these curious and mysterious parts are pretty enough to simulate human curiosity.
Thus, I will proceed with my third project (Lingerie collection) with these mysterious and beautiful ocean creatures' features. Even though the creatures that I have searched have all different characteristics, I think more developments for the idea are needed to be more organized and I should think more about how to make it into a collection.
