Major project - research : 80's fashion trend

Before carrying out my major project, I had to choose which era's fashion trends I will refer to. while I searched for many trends from the 50s to 90s, the 80's fashion outstood for me among them all, since these designs were quite sophisticated and factors that i like on a daily basis, even if it is nearly 30 years ago. Hence I researched the 80's trends and styles, especially for young ladies, and I found these pictures took in the era. It was very interesting and fun work and i could not believe that this happened before I was born.

Looking at these dresses, there are huge puffs and ruffles on the arm side and vivid colors generally. According to harpers bazaar magazine, the 1980s were a decade of bold style, silhouettes, and vital colors also including permed and voluminous hair.  

The really interesting part of these pictures is that fashion trends are returning again a few decades later. Puff and power shoulder, neon, coat with huge volume or an oversize and huge belt were trending in the 1980s like it happens in 2019 and 2020. Also, these resources are sufficient for me to get inspired.

In 2019 runways, many designers led 80's fashion style to as modern approaches with puff shoulder, metallic glam micro skirt, slouchy boots, and neon. I think these designs would be great references and sources for my major project-Looking forward.
